but armor is useless and all tanks need to have 230 pen so that even the most armored tanks can even hope to bounce a shell here or there

its the russian server. its made out of playing on calculators having 10 fps.

also i dont get why straik or other guys from NA play apcr only on e50/patton. you can play it perfectly fine with a lot of AP shells. tcamir is the perfect example.

we can discuss if gold ammo with such pen is neccessary in wot, but we dont really need to discuss if one should not use it if its available for credits.

armor has gotten a lot more useless since the introduction of gold ammo for credits.

the current way wg is trying to fix this issue is utterly retarted though. just nerf gold ammo pen to hell or reduce damage of the shells to balance it. they are nerfing standard ammo which will result in a even bigger gold spam.
as long as there is gold ammo, even with reduced dmg, and it might really turn the tide in some battles where you are able to carry the game i will never hesitate to use it.

Since you are able to use it, you can decide for yourself if you need it or not.
Armor doesn't say anything anymore, even kurwawagons and mauschens are not as fun to play.

However I can honestly count the amount of battles where gold would have made a difference on one if not two hands for all of my games played.

Sure you can. Just as you can decide for yourself to play a tank with a 50% crew. You can also decide to equip all your tanks with wet ammo rack, spall liner and CO2 fuel tanks.
I think everyone should decide for himself if he wants to use the long 88 on the Tiger I. A truely skilled player doesn't need it though, better stick with the L56.
