I liked Edge of Tomorrow - from the recent things I watched.

As for series:
- Agents of Shield is ok if you want something easy to watch.
- Vikings I think it should have another season this year
- Band of Brothers and Pacific if you want WW2 action
- Falling Skies if you're into an "alien invasion" thing
- GOT still rules...

i only watch amc´s " the walking dead " atm cause i like quality zombie stuff. " firefly " was for its time also pretty awesomium.

btw @ boogie, i luv the complete scifi genre but falling skies never got me, overall it was made way too cheap.

Yep Firefly was great. Too bad they stopped it...
The only scifi "alien invasion of Earth" series I saw to compare with falling skies is Defiance. I found that one to be worse.
At scifi nothing beats StarGate imo... Farscape was also ok.

TV shows I liked, (well, more or less):

drama shows:

The Wire
Treme (created by David Simon ("The Wire"), playing in post-katherina New Orleans)
Breaking Bad
Friday Night Lights (you like Texas and Football? Better watch it then)
Mad Men
Game Of Thrones
Band Of Brothers
The Pacific
Generation Kill (written by David Simon ("The Wire"), playing in Iraq 2003)
True Detective
Battlestar Galactica
The Sopranos
Vikings
The Good Wife
Homeland
Hatufim (Israeli original of "Homeland")
In Treatment (you like psychotherapy sessions? watch it)
This is England 86'
West Wing
Fargo
Orange Is The New Black (just started watching it, not sure what to think about it)

sitcom:

Frasier
How not to live your life (very british)
Modern Family
Curb Your Enthusiasm

Orange is the new black is p. good but you've got to fast forward Piper and her fiance's back stories. These are terrible.

Wasn't mentioned yet:
Angels in America (6-part miniseries by HBO with Meryl Streep and Al Pacino) - very enjoyable. Overall I think most of the stuff that comes out of HBO's power house is worth at least giving it a shot. Netfilx original series (although I've only watched 2) are also worth a look.

ye, I totally forgot about Angels In America. I read the drama (actually 2 parts) by Kushner first, then watched the show. Really good.

Currently watching/waiting for new episodes (in alphabetical order):

Brooklyn Nine-Nine - kinda childish humor, but it's quick stupid fun
Castle - Nathan Fillion is just great
Community - pure awesomeness, must watch
Falling Skies - just started, too early to judge
Fargo - haven't seen enough to judge, looks interesting
Game of Thrones - well I don't think I have to comment on that
House of Cards - binge viewing deluxe
Lost Girl - not bad if you like super-human/mystery stuff
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - actually i was hoping for more. The characters seem unreal. It's not bad, but I'm not really excited for a new episode
Modern Family - good timekiller
Orange is the New Black - just started, can't really judge yet
Person of Interest - absolutely worth watching
Sherlock - must see, it's soooooo gud
The Americans - unusual scenario, quite interesting
The Big Bang Theory - no comment required
The Blacklist - has much potential, unfortunately bad acting kills the fun sometimes
The Originals - the dirty version of Vampire Diaries, only worth seeing if you like the main show
The Sarah Connor Chronicles - need more reasons to hate Lena Headey's roles? Summer Glau is awesome though
The Vampire Diaries - no I'm neither a girl nor gay. Yes my friends make fun of me for watching this :waxx25:
The Walking Dead - if you like zombies go and watch naow
True Blood - well I guess you figured it out by now, I like vampires
White Collar - cool to see a different kind of crime, not just the standard murder stuff

Finished:

Almost Human - kinda sad it got canceled after one season, I liked the future crime scenario
Band of Brothers - very gud
Battlestar Galactica - some episodes are just boring, others are pure gold. Bring patience, but it's worth it
Breaking Bad - haven't watched it? your loss
Buffy the Vampire Slayer - more vampires anyone? But seriously, this is really good
Chuck - Adam Baldwin is awesome. go watch
Dracula - why do you always cancel the good shows??? also more vampires
Enlisted - yeah I can see why the canceled it, immature commedy
Eureka - probably wouldn't watch it again
Firefly - best show ever. If you haven't watched it, stop whatever you were doing right now and watch all episodes + the movie
Heroes - I really liked this show. Was really sad when it got canceled. That unresolved cliffhanger...
How I Met Your Mother - was really good, then turned to shit. Stuck with it anyway to see the resolution
The Pacific - If you liked Band of Brothers you will like this
The Tomorrow People - again super-human stuff. Good idea but not well made, too much makes no sense
Stargate Atlantis - if you like Sci-fi this is gold
Stargate SG-1 - I have seen all episodes at least 3 times
Stargate Universe - what a waste of a perfectly good franchise
Veronica Mars - if you don't like Kristen Bell you got no heart. Great show

Watchlist:

The Sopranos
The Wire
True Detective

Shelved (watched several episodes - some are simply shit, others I might continue at some point)

Arrow
Californication
Homeland
House of Lies
Nikita
Scrubs - srsly I don't get people who like this. It's just not fun :speshul:
Two and a Half Men - stopped after Charlie Sheen was gone

Btw before I forget it.
All movies from Wes Anderson.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0027572/?ref_=nv_sr_1

You might want to watch Jericho Hellfish.
Also started Under the Dome but its somewhat a Jericho clone but just worse. Jericho was canceled early also but comes to a good resolution in a 2. short season.

Regarding Stargate I actually like Stargate Universe cause it was somewhat darker. The series had their fair share of bad episodes but thats nothing new for the Stargate franchise :D

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - more vampires anyone? But seriously, this is really good

I have to be honest I watches it on TV back in the days too cause there was nothing better but srsly Buffy and good?
(just see it also got a good rating on IMDB :O)
Tried True Blood but got bored. Wasnt too girly though in my opinion and had some funny moments still. I guess I would watch a show with Vampires if its in a post-apocalyptic World or in Space :D

Btw I still hope series like Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones inspire other companies to take a step back from the popular style of Tv shows.
They both are unsual in their success (cause of the story/setting) but had outstanding story/actors. Most of them not being that famous neither.
